● Upgraded critical infrastructure to help reduce damage
from earthquakes and 昀氀ooding, especially in high-risk areas.
● Modernised the Jamaica Fire Brigade, adding new trucks,
building and upgrading stations, and hiring more 昀椀re
prevention of昀椀cers.
● Strengthened Jamaica’s disaster laws and updated
emergency response plans to make sure the system works
better in a crisis.
● Passed a new Building Act, to make sure buildings are
constructed to higher safety standards, protecting lives,
homes, and businesses in the event of a natural disaster.
